Hyderabadi Biryani has a unique flavor unmatched by any rice dish. However, the dish has been corrupted so much that we are served with silly stuff as authentic Hyderabadi Biryani. I really do not know, if the dish was originated in Turkey or by the... Expand

Yes the place is slowly transforming into a metro, I hope they take care of public transport soon , some of the major infrastructure projects which are on cards or under implementation would make the place a truely a city worth living.

I liked your blog.  Looks like you described Hyderabad and the changes in my town very well.  I have been visiting Hyderabad from the US now and then, and when I see the changes in the last 5 years I get baffled.  Take for example the number of colleges in the city.  Now students have so many choices.  The shopping malls have also grown.  I wanted to buy some medicines from a pharmacy, and my uncle told me to just call a number of a company called MedEx (www.medex.in).  I called them and they delivered the medicines in the next 20 minutes.  I cannot believe the changes.
I will try your biryani recipe soon!!

Sajita

Thanks for visiting, I presume hyderabadi biryani is in  Turkish origin, Buhari looks like Afghani, in my view except  difference in method , rest all remains same.   Hyderabadi Biryani is cooked on slow/ medium all round flame and cooks under  pressure.

You are right, the ghee can be reduced, but some how we compromise on the taste without adequate ghee.

Looks tasty.  My mom makes almost the same but she calls it Buhari Biriyani.  I don't know if Hyderabadi and Buhari Biriyani both are same?  I have never tasted Hydrabadi Biriyani but my mom makes very tasty biriyani.

* I think the amount of Ghee can be reduced for health purposes.

Thanks
Sherly Isaac
